ABOUT COLLEGE
Establishing higher education in the drought-prone rural area of Bodhegaon posed significant challenges, especially for underprivileged groups like villagers, cane-cutters, and nomadic tribes. Karmayogi Abasaheb Kakade harbored a deep-seated desire to bridge this educational gap and integrate the youth of this backward region into the educational mainstream. This vision was realized on September 27, 1997, when his son Adv.Dr. Vidyadharji Kakade and spouse Sau. Harshadatai Kakade founded the college.
Initially offering only Arts faculty, the college responded to the growing demand for science education and introduced Bachelor of Science programs in 2014-15. Recognizing the importance of computer education in the 21st century, especially for rural students, the institution launched Bachelor of Computer Application curriculum in 2016-17. This expansion aimed to equip students with skills relevant to the contemporary world, particularly in information technology.
Despite its rural location, the college has excelled in academic, sports, and cultural activities since its inception. It has earned recognition as a leading higher education institution in Shevgaon tehsil and maintains a permanent affiliation with Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The success of its students is evident in their placements across various government, semi-government, and private organizations.
Central to the college's achievements is its dedicated and student-oriented teaching and administrative staff. Their devotion, experience, and commitment to the students' holistic development contribute significantly to the institution's reputation for academic excellence and student success.
In essence, Late Abasaheb Kakade Arts College Bodhegaon stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity, transforming lives and empowering the rural youth to excel in the modern world. Through its comprehensive educational programs and unwavering dedication to student welfare, the college continues to fulfill its founder's vision of bringing higher education to the underserved communities of Bodhegaon and beyond.
